Power Marketing Selected to Redesign Washington County Free Library Logo

After hearing proposals from several marketing firms in Maryland, the Washington County Free Library (WCFL) chose Power Marketing to transform its brand and graphic identity. We’re excited to redesign a new logo and tagline that will reintroduce the library system to the community. WCFL is currently in the midst of a capital building expansion that will double the size of the central library. Construction is expected to be completed later this year.

The current logo reflects the nation’s first book wagon, which was first introduced in Washington County, Md. in 1905. It has been the centerpiece of the library brand since the early 1900s. While the library is very proud of its heritage, WCFL requested a more current design that reflects the realities of libraries today. The new design will position the library as an invaluable community asset, a major education resource and an economic driver in Washington County.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to redesign the library’s logo and tagline,” says Power Marketing President/Owner Brian Flook. “The WCFL has been a landmark in our community for many years — a destination for socializing, a priceless resource of information and a partner in economic development. With our organization’s proven brand strategies and WCFL’s impact on the community, we believe this new logo will symbolize all the great things on the horizon for Washington County.”

Stay tuned to see what our graphic design team comes up with…
