We’ve been specializing in homebuilder marketing for quite some time and know just how to ensure our homebuilding clients get the best exposure for their new homes. That being said, we always spend time getting to know our homebuilding partners before building their new website, discussing the importance of marketing automation and necessity of best SEO practices. But we always start the conversation asking about their homebuilding “brand”. It’s surprising to learn how often homebuilders can’t give a simple answer as to what is their brand.
What exactly is a brand? Does such a thing exist or is it just more marketing strategy mumbo jumbo slight of hand? Some people think their color scheme and logo make up their brand. What do you think? I believe that the concept of ‘brand’ is slightly overrated and very misunderstood.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the first criminal to experience the effects of a stun gun? Imagine you’re a 6’5,” 287 pound outlaw about to take on a 5’7″, slightly overweight local patrolman. You’re pretty confident—but suddenly the police officer calmly pulls out this strange looking thing, points it at you and all of a sudden… Bzzzzzttttt! Before you even know what happened, 50,000 volts of electric current stop you in your tracks! You might call that a great equalizer. Continue Reading →

The days are longer, the first blooms have emerged, and bees and other critters are showing their tiny faces after a long winter. No season represents growth or renewal quite like spring. Motivated by the change in seasons to start anew, we scan our closets, bedrooms, offices and garages in search of anything that can be cleaned, reorganized or pitched altogether. Today’s consumer has a ton of marketing messages to sift through every day. To set yourself apart from the competition, you need a unique selling proposition (USP). The second annual Maryland International Film Festival (MDIFF) is just a month away, so our brand strategy team put together this unique flyer to celebrate the event and encourage the public to attend. Power Marketing is a proud sponsor of the festival, which encourages independent filmmakers to engage audiences, collaborate and network with other filmmakers, and educate the community about their films. Communications Specialist Krista Scarlett wrote the copy announcing the schedule, pricing and sponsors, and Lead Designer Amanda Linthicum created the graphic design md.
If you’ll be in the Hagerstown area April 11-13, then consider attending the MDIFF. A number of local, national and international filmmakers will showcase their films and participate in Q&As. Visitors will get the chance to watch these films, talk to the filmmakers and support independent artists whose passions come to life on the big screen.
The festival’s headliner, author and former American CIA operative Tony Mendez, will be there to screen the Oscar-winning film “Argo,” directed by and starring Ben Affleck. The film is based on the true story of Mendez’ rescue of six U.S. diplomats during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. To learn more about the festival or the films and filmmakers featured, visit www.marylandiff.com. We hope to see you there!
Tell us what you think: Does this flyer make you want to attend the MDIFF?
A new year often symbolizes down time for business, but not for us! Our power web design and internet marketing team has been working full steam on a number of exciting projects for our clients. Here’s a glimpse at some of the projects we’ve completed recently:
We redesigned the Thompson Services website to better reflect the propane dealer’s HVAC services. The new Maryland website design and copy reiterate that Thompson Services can take care of all of their clients’ heating and cooling needs.
Glessner Technologies came to us wanting a new brand identity logo that better reflectedtheir recent acquisitions (IT solutions/telecommunications services). The new design, created by Web Designer Trent Semler, feels more tech-savvy and includes the company’s new services.
Our graphic design MD team and communications specialist worked seamlessly to create this sponsorship brochure for Meritus Health’s “Evening of Red Wine and Dark Chocolate.” The single-page handout features details about the event’s wineglass sponsor — our client ThompsonGas and Big Cork Vineyards—and was given to patrons at the cardiac health event.
There’s only one number to call for all of your brand strategy and marketing needs — 301-416-7861. Contact our power team today for marketing solutions and sales results!
With more than 300 visitors, the ThompsonGas retail showroom grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 29 was a huge success! We joined our friends at ThompsonGas to help plan the event and participate in the day’s festivities.
The celebration featured a live radio broadcast, weeklong discounts and giveaways — 50 gallons of propane and free HVAC maintenance agreements daily the week of the opening, plus a FREE gas grill! — food, entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The entire Power Marketing team was on board to help plan, advertise and attend the celebration. Our power team of designers and writers prepared interior signage and window films for the showroom; planned and set up the interior design including wall quotes, paint colors and furniture; created event promotions and giveaways; and produced all marketing strategy and print design for the event, including marketing social media, email marketing, press releases, postcards, copywriting & editing, and more.
From safe and clean outdoor living supplies and accessories, to grills, propane and one of the most extensive fireplace displays in the area, customers can count on ThompsonGas for the finest propane gas services and competitive prices around. A special thanks to ThompsonGas for letting us take part in this special event.
If you haven’t yet, stop by the showroom on 6708 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Md.! And check out our website to learn more about our brand strategy services, internet marketing capabilities and other professional services we offer at Power Marketing.
